Am I sniffing glue again…or is there something missing from this annoucement?
Three-time Grammy nominee, Pat Green announces the release of SONGS WE WISH WE’D WRITTEN II, due in stores February 28, 2012. The album marks Green’s first release on his new record label Sugar Hill Records and is the follow-up to his 2001 collaboration with friend Cory Morrow, SONGS WE WISH WE’D WRITTEN.Â
Is it only Pat that is making this announcement? Â Where’s Cory Morrow? Â I know I dropped a lot of acid during the 70′s, but I am pretty damned sure I remember him being on Songs We Wish We’d Written…the first one.
Look…there he is!
I “heard” that Cory is only on ONE song this time around…Lyle Lovett’s “If I Had A Boat” and that’s it. I have no idea who the other artists are, but again I “heard” that the dude from Collective Soul does one…but I don’t believe about 99% of what I hear.
I am not a big Cory Morrow fan by any stretch of the imagination, the truth is I don’t really like him much at all and I am fairly certain the feeling is mutual…but in his defense…doing an album titled Songs We Wish We’d Written without Cory just seems like Woody doing Toy Story 2 without Buzz Lightyear.
It just doesn’t seem….right.
Why not just call the album Songs I Wish I’d Written (With Anyone But Cory Morrow?)
