Texas/Red Dirt Music? Strippers? Drugs? Powerwashing? I’m All In…

It’s Movie Time!

Mutt Productions is extremely honored to announce the premiere of their Independent Feature Film; Dani, The Ranch Hand. Featuring the talented songwriting and music of several Texas/Red Dirt artists. Music Supervisor, James G. Trevino explains how this marriage came about. “The Texas independent movie scene is a lot like what our music scene was 12 years ago when we were all getting started.” He adds, “So when I was approached about working on the music for this film that takes place in Texas about people going through hard times, it was a no brainer that I was going to include the music of my friends.”

Contributing to Dani, The Ranch Hand are Tx/Red Dirt artists Bleu Edmondson, Jason Boland, Mike McClure, Doug Moreland and John Evans. James explains, “We have been talking about getting our music into movies for a few years now and in fact John Evans has produced his own Independent film as well as worked on some others.” “In all honesty, when we were editing the film it was these guys music, lyrics and honesty that gave the movie an entirely different tone.”

Jason Boland’s ‘Proud Souls’ and Bleu Edmondson’s ‘Don’t fade away’ strike a chord of sincerity while Doug Moreland’s version of ‘Die in the Desert’ lends authenticity to a truck stop. But it’s Mike McClure’s ‘Haunt me no more’ that could sum up this entire movie. James continues, ” Any great movie can stand on it’s own, but when great music is added to the equation is when you get something magical.” John Evans provides that magic with songs like ‘Waco’, ‘Whiskey warm and Delta High’, ‘Western Czar’ and ‘Silver Star’ to name a few.

The movie premieres this Saturday, July 21st in San Antonio, Tx at the Josephine Theater. Tickets are still available for the two screenings at 7pm and 9pm. For ticket information click HERE.
