Kacey “Kiss Me on the Mouth” Musgraves is totally getting stolen away from Josh Abbott. She is going going on Tour with Lady Antebellum!
From CMIL:
Universal Music Group Nashville recording artist Kacey Musgraves will open for Lady Antebellum in select cities on their record-breaking “Own The Night 2012 World Tour” in Europe this summer.
“I feel so lucky and excited to be going out on the road – and halfway around the world – with Lady Antebellum,” exclaimed Musgraves. “I’m gonna bring my Lady-A game!”
“Kacey is a really talented singer/songwriter, and we’re just big fans of her music,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “Keith Urban was gracious enough to invite us to Australia with him a few years ago, so we know what a big opportunity it is for a new artist to be able to go tour overseas. We’re excited to take Kacey with us!”
Musgraves is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her debut album, which she is co-producing with Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. Her debut single will be released later this year.
Suck on that John Mayer!

she is unbelievably talented.
So Nashville came a knocking and stole another Texas sweetheart away. Does that make her a sell out?
I guess it’s her dream to be a Nashville pop queen,or she wouldn’t be on tour with Nashville pop acts.
She has been in Nashville since she was about 16. Have you ever heard of Nashville Star? You have no idea what you are talking about with the “sell out” mantra. Shut up until you know the subject.
I have to TOTALLY but respectfully disagree with BWB’s comment (but agree that she is a sweetheart). I think you should do your research about this gal before you accuse Nashville of “stealing” her or consider her a “sell out”. Kacey has lived in Nashville and has been paying her dues for quite a while, she really is a breathe of fresh air. Kacey toured with Rad Foster singing harmonies for him, and she also has had some really great songs cut by some pretty big artist prior to having the spotlight for her self for once. I am really proud of our TX girl, she is representing this state with class. I respect her as an artist because I believe she has rightfully earned it. I hope more people are turned on to her incredible songs when she finally gets to release her album. Although I love her voice, she isn’t necessarily the vocalist that some of these nashville artist are but her songwriting makes up for it. If anyone wants to hear more from this girl I advise that you listen to “things to fix” or “get outa my yard” those are just a few of my favorites.
Shut Up– I don’t pay attention to Nashville country. You obviously do. BTW…. F$$k off you chicken shit…
idratherbelucky- how many Texas artists have gone to Nashville without being accused of selling out? ZERO! How many songs have been written about that very subject? It’s been the lynch pin of Texas music scene for what, 50 decades? I’m surprised she is not being accused of one by the Texas music faithful. Give it some time I suppose…
