I LOVE when stuff like this happens.
Songs mean different things to different people, but when a group of people embrace a song…whether it is soldiers or Cancer survivors, etc…it seems to take on a power of its own.
My Facebook friend “Dairy Carrie” is a huge music fan but also has a blog where she writes all about her adventures as a REAL life farm girl. Yup, she’s not just dressing up in her “Corn Star” get up and dancing around in a barn hayloft…she lives and works on a dairy farm. (I know I follow her because I enjoy all her baby cow pictures….errr, I guess they are called calves, but baby cow sounds cuter.)
Carrie posted a blog this week about what the new Departed song “Worth The Fight” means to her and challenged her online farming family circle to share why what they do as agriculture professionals is worth the fight. Y’all know I’m not moved by much, but I was especially moved and even inspired by these stories.
