I missed Luke Bryan singing the National Anthem at the All Star Game last night because I was watching America’s Got Talent, but my Twitter timeline threw up with people tweeting about Luke reading the lyrics off of his hand. Well, I was a little disappointed when I watched it because I don’t think he was cheating. I wish he was because that would make awesome blog fodder. I think he was just looking at his watch.
Luke sounded great and other than dragggggggggging the song out, I think he was trying to make sure he finished in enough time to coordinate with the plane flyover, which he didn’t.
What do you think? I honestly didn’t study it as closely as some of the people on YouTube. Apparently this video is the new Zubruter Film. Maybe he was reading them. I dunno.
Question, would you rather someone cheat on the National Anthem or would you rather them screw it up?
After all the trash talking Mike Eli endured, I might cheat too.
I think the SCARIEST part of this entire thing is just the comments from some of America’s youth. It really is shameful.
Luke has his own songs that he needs to remember. I’m not even out of high school yet and I don’t remember all the words that we learned in elementary school! Plus all the added pressure of preforming at the All Star game!

Really kid? IT IS THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Its one verse and a chorus. Good grief. The thing about it though, sing it well and no one will remember(possible exception: Whitney Houston); fail spectacularly and your name will live forever.
the most offensive part to me is the front-tuck behind the belt buckle/skinny jeans combo
Word.
Ok so are you for or against Luke?
Me?
I was a huge Luke fan at the beginning of his career, but his new material doesn’t do much for me. I think he has dumbed down his songwriting to have more mass appeal. I get it, but he lost me at “warsh” in the rain song. Just trying too hard.
As far as Anthemgate…he admitted to writing some key words down and I don’t see much wrong with that. He wanted it to be good and didn’t want to screw up in front of the world. I respect his honesty about it…and it didn’t hurt the performance. I thought he sounded good.
YAY
I LOVE me some Luke Bryan! I don’t care if he was looking at his watch, cheating whatever! It’s LUKE! He’s freakin’ awesome. How can you not love that DEEP voice!
I love LB! He can shake it for me in those tight skinny jeans! ;)
I agree that he was checking his watch to time the fly by.
The boy has some ‘man’ hands on him….
